First Heat Wave Set to Sizzle Norwalk

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. - Potentially record-breaking heat is headed for Fairfield County this week, with temperatures expected to soar into the 90s on Wednesday.

The highs Wednesday and Thursday should reach 93 degrees in Norwalk, Stamford and elsewhere along Fairfield County's coast. Temperatures could hit 95 farther inland in towns such as Weston and Redding, the National Weather Service says.

Check this website later this week for information on cooling centers and beating the heat.

The highs should drop back into the mid-80s on Friday and hover right at about 80 through the weekend. The weather service also says there's a chance for thunderstorms Friday.
