Fairfield County Faces Touch of Winter Tonight

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. - Winter may make a slushy appearance Wednesday night in the form of rain and snow.

The storm moving in Wednesday night is not expected to match any of last winter's parade of blizzards but the National Weather Service predicts the half inch of snow that may fall tonight will be followed by heavy rain on Thursday.

The storm will be followed by colder weather and potentially heavy wind gusts, the weather service says in its hazardous weather outlook for Fairfield County. The highs will drop from the 40s on Friday down to the 30s over the weekend, which is expected to be mostly sunny, the Weather Service says.
