There is now just a possibility of snow showers and about an inch of accumulation across Fairfield County from 3 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, Feb. 26, according to the National Weather Service. The chance of precipitation is about 20 percent.
High temperatures will struggle to reach the freezing mark on Wednesday, staying in the mid-20 all day under partly sunny skies.
Frigid temperatures return Wednesday night, with a low in the single digits and winds of 5 to 8 mph.
More cold air is expected for Thursday with mostly sunny skies and a high near 28, with a chance of afternoon flurries. Temperatures will drop into the single digits again in the evening, with a low of about 6 degrees.
There is a chance for a significant snowstorm Sunday into Monday. However, it is too early to predict how much snow might accumulate.
