DOT Closing Lanes Of I-95 In Darien, Norwalk To Repair Sinkhole

NORWALK, Conn. -- Drivers should be ready for delays and traffic backups Thursday, Oct. 29, on I-95 northbound as the state repairs a sinkhole in the highway, the Connecticut Department of Transportation said.

Darien and Norwalk commuters can expect delays between Exits 11 & 13 on I-95 Oct. 29 due to lane closures for sinkhole repairs.

The roadwork will be done between Exits 11 and 13 on the left shoulder and the high-speed lane in Darien and Norwalk.

The two lanes will be closed to traffic from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to allow for the repairs, DOT said.

Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity. 

The repair work is part of the pavement preservation project along I-95. The project begins at Exit 10 and ends at Exit 15 in both the northbound and southbound directions. The regular work schedule for this project is from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Friday.
