Did You Remember To Set Your Clocks Back, Norwalk?

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- As daylight-saving time came to an end early Sunday in Fairfield County, remember the adage: Spring forward, fall back.

After enjoying an extra hour of sleep, now is the time to check your electronic devices, clocks and car: Did you remember to set them back an hour before going to bed last night? Most electronic devices reset their time automatically, but old-fashioned clocks, watches and microwave ovens need to be fixed by hand.

And the time to do it is now because at 2 a.m. overnight, daylight-saving time came to end for 2014.

Many fire department remind residents that this is a good time to change the batteries in your home's smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors. The campaign is called ‘Change Your Clocks, Change Your Batteries." And with an extra hour on your hands on Sunday, you have time to complete that chore.

The change to Eastern Standard Time means mornings will be brighter, but it will be dark by the end of the workday.

Don't like standard time? Daylight time will return the second Sunday in March, when the clocks are set ahead one hour and we lose an hour of sleep.
