Construction Closes Rowayton Avenue Nightly

If you're headed for the Rowayton train station at night, you need to allow extra time: Road closures on Rowayton Avenue under the Metro-North Railroad bridge have been announced by the Connecticut Department of Transportation. Rowayton Avenue between Devils Garden Road and Hunt Street will be closed from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. each weeknight that work is scheduled on the new bridge abutments. This is expected to last through June 17.

Local traffic will be permitted to access the railroad facilities and residences, but no traffic will be allowed to pass below the bridge. Detours signs will be augmented by traffic control personnel directing motorists and pedestrians during construction. Pedestrian traffic will be maintained at all times.

The Rowayton station parking lots will be accessible during the road closures. Access to the New York-bound, north side parking lot will be from Rowayton Avenue north of the bridge. Access to the New Haven-bound, south side parking lot will be from Rowayton Avenue south of the bridge.
