RIDGEFIELD, Conn. Academy Award-winner Christopher Plummer will be coming to the Ridgefield Playhouse next month to discuss his film Beginners.
The Playhouse Film Society will be screening Beginners as a part of their Lost and Found Film Series on Sept. 8 at 7:30 p.m. After the screening, Plummer will be available for a question-and-answer session.
Plummer, who lives in Weston, earned the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for his role in Beginners, in which he plays opposite Ewan McGregor.
The film follows the story of a young man, McGregor, who must come to terms with the life and death of his father, Plummer, while starting a relationship with a woman, Melanie Laurent, who is dealing with her own father issues. According to the Ridgefield Playhouses synopsis, the film is based on the life of the writer and producer Mike Mills.
According to the Playhouse, at a recent film society screening, more than 50 people were turned away because of limited seating. Tickets are $10 for adults, $7.50 for seniors and $5 for students. Early reservations are recommended.
