Candidates Serve Up Ice Cream, Politics

The Labor Day weekend marks the two-month countdown to the election, and local Democrats decided to mark the occasion with some chilled, sweet treats. State Sen. Bob Duff hosted an ice cream social at his home in Norwalk, and dozens of constituents took the opportunity to express their concerns over bowls of vanilla, chocolate or strawberry.

Several other Democratic candidates, including U.S. Rep. Jim Himes, joined Duff, who represents Darien and Norwalk. Besides having a satisfying treat, most of the guests left with plenty of stickers, pamphlets and lawn signs for the upcoming campaign.
