Buses Replace Trains on Danbury Branch

All train service on the Metro-North Danbury line will be suspended for Monday and Tuesday because of weather-related damages. The trains will be replaced by bus service.

Buses will operate according to train schedules, with a few exceptions. On Monday night, the 7:43 p.m. shuttle from Stamford will not connect with the 6:55 p.m. train from Grand Central Terminal. Commuters should take the 7:05 p.m. train from Grand Central and connect to bus service at South Norwalk.

On Tuesday morning, bus service will be provided from Danbury, Bethel and West Redding stations to connect to the 7:10 a.m. train from the Branchville station. Metro-North said commuters should expect a 15-minute delay on all substitute bus services.

The Danbury branch was knocked out of commission early Monday after flooding occurred near the Bethel station. This happened on the day trains were supposed to return to their normal schedules, after winter storms severely reduced the number of trains able to run.
