Aquarion Suggests Water Restrictions

Aquarion Water Co. is asking its more than a half million state customers to continue to limit their water usage through Friday , July 23. With temperatures expected to be in the high 80s next week, the company wants to save as much water as possible.

“Although the precipitation we experienced this past Tuesday and Wednesday offered short-term relief, the forecast through next week shows more hot weather and very little rain,” said Bruce Silverstone, Aquarion’s vice president of corporate communications, in a press release.

The voluntary restrictions, which were first implemented during the recent heat wave, include:

• Alternate days to water your lawn based on home address (e.g. odd-numbered addresses water on odd-numbered days) from 5 a.m. to 9 a.m. or from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

• Do not wash cars, boats and other vehicles at your home

• Sweep driveways and decks instead of using a hose to clean

• Cover pools when you are not using them so the water does not evaporate
