Traffic accidents, road closures and impassable conditions were being reported all along I-95 and the Merritt Parkway on Wednesday morning after more than a foot of snow piled up.
Heavy congestion from tractor-trailers and disabled vehicles was reported on I-95 in the Fairfield and Westport area as plows worked to clear heavy snow.
The northbound side of I-95 was reportedly closed from Exit 18 to 21 because of a tractor-trailer accident. The DOT is advising that people stay off the roads.
