Wind is Up But Kite Heads Down

At Sherwood Island, Danielle Broad of Fairfield takes another stab at lift-off for her dragon kite. With her (but not pictured) were husband Manny and kids Harrison and Miranda, working on their own project: trying to fly a box kite. The wind was up but the kites were, mostly, down, on the sand. The quartet had already taken a bike ride. Harrison, 7, was practicing riding without training wheels. Danielle said they were giving kite flying five more minutes before heading to lunch."We pack a lot in on one day," she said.
