Weston's Plummer Gets Spirit Award; Is Oscar Next?

WESTON, Conn. — Actor Christopher Plummer picked up the best supporting male prize Saturday night at the Spirit Awards for his role in "Beginners" as a man who comes out of the closet after his wife's death.

Plummer, a longtime Weston resident, is up for the same award at Sunday night's Academy Awards. He also won a Golden Globe last month for his role.
