Topping off defines the placement of the final steel beam. This beam is the last of nearly 600 tons of structural steel that has been used to construct the new addition. The original building opened in November 2011 and within a year, an additional .57 acres were acquired in September 2012 bringing the total lot size to 1.56 acres.
This current expansion will add nearly 70,000 square feet to the existing building resulting in a net total of over 186,000 square feet providing Westy with almost 600 additional storage units.
Precast wall panel cladding will follow the final steel with an estimated project completion date at the end of this summer.
