Stamford Pastor Proud of Bishop Proclamation

One of the most significant days in Pastor James Wilkinson's life will be Sunday, Jan. 9, when he'll be involved in a public ceremony announcing his new role as bishop designate. He's inviting all members of the Fairfield County community to attend and share in this milestone event with him, and he's asked The Daily Stamford and The Daily Norwalk to let community members know about it.

"It's a proclamation to the community at large," said Wilkinson, a native of Stamford. "It'll be a short service, with officers and elders of the church supporting my elevation as bishop." The event is a prelude to Wilkinson's consecration ceremony, which will take place June 25.

Both events will be held at Wilkinson's church, Spring Harvest Ministries in Norwalk. The church is part of the International Royal Priesthood Fellowship, a Bridgeport-based collective of ministries.

Wilkinson is pastor of Spring Harvest Ministries, which he established nine years ago. He said that he was drawn to Norwalk to establish his nondenominational Pentecostal-based church over Stamford, where he lives.

"That's where the Lord led me to minister, at least at this point," he said.

The processional for the Jan. 9 proclamation service will begin at 5 p.m. Spring Harvest Ministries is located at 165 Flax Hill Road, Norwalk. For directions or more information, call the church at 203-854-9092.
