Westporter Elizabeth Beller strolls with her rescued Greyhounds, Bruno, age two and Bosco, who's six. Bruno used to race at Wonderland Dog Park in Revere, MA, which closed in 2009. He made his way to CT Greyhound Adoption, and then to Elizabeth and family. Bosco was a racer at the track in Hinsdale, New Hampshire, which went out of business in 2009. Elizabeth adopted him from CT Humane in Westport. Elizabeth says they are the easiest dogs; they shed very little, and so are good companions for people with mild allergies. An added bonus is they don't have "that dog smell." And, surprisingly, they don't need much exercise. "Greyhounds are called the 45 MPH couch potatoes," Elizabeth explains, because they love to watch TV, sleep and if they're made to race, yes, they can reach 45 MPH.
