Pop Art Inspires Display at Wilton Library

The Wilton Library has brightened its walls with a new display of art called “Pow, Punch, re-ZOOM!” that was inspired by the Pop Art movement of the late 1950s through the 1970s. The library exhibit includes the work of about 20 artists from Fairfield County and Westchester County, N.Y.

“It will be a fun show for kids and adults alike, putting smiles on everyone’s faces,” organizer Susan Frey said in a statement.

About half of the artists in the show are from the Loft Artists Association in Stamford. The Loft artists are:Susan Frey, Paul Larson, Renee Kahn, Francine Funke, Tina Rohrer, Cate Leach, Lynda Carroll, Anne Salthouse, Lina Morielli, and Wendi Ohlson. Other artists include: Brenda Jacobsen, Al Weiner, Barbara Campbell, Ellen Gordon, Renee Kahn, Mary Louise Long, Karen Siegel, and Toby Michaels.

The exhibit runs through April 2, and many of the pieces are available for purchase. A portion of the proceeds from the sales will benefit the library.

A reception for the exhibit will be held Friday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. It is open to the public. The Wilton Library is located at 137 Old Ridgefield Road in Wilton Center.
