Fathers Day may be more popular this year than ever, according to the National Retail Federation, which tracks spending during this and other holiday periods right down to the penny.
More than 77 percent of Americans said they plan to celebrate Fathers Day this year. The survey found the average person will spend a total of $119.34 on Dad this year, up from $117.14 last year, a foundation report says.
Overall spending for Father's Day is expected to reach $13.3 billion nationally, with about $2.5 million expected to be spent to take dads out for special meals or to sporting events.
