Out With the Old Snow, in With the New ...

With more snow on the way, there's only one thing to do: shovel the old stuff out of the way. Or if you're Bob Roberts, have a friend with a skid-steer do it. Roberts, owner of Ed's Corner Service in East Norwalk, had his parking lot cleared Thursday morning.

"It gives me a place to put more snow," he said. The icy white stuff went down the block to a spot where it won't bother anybody, in front of a vacant house.

Roberts has owned Ed's Corner Service for nine years. "I've been here for 36 years," he said. "I worked for Ed, for 28 years. Been here since I was 18."

A winter storm watch is in effect for Norwalk and the vicinity from Friday morning through late Friday. Light snow should begin early in the morning, and a heavier band is expected by late morning. Forecasters expect 2 to 5 inches of snow to accumulate, or even 6 inches where the snow band lingers the longest. Visibility will be 1 to 3 miles, and a half-mile or less in the heavier snow band.
