NORWALK, Conn. -- Keystone House recently received a $5,000 grant from First County Bank.
The grant will be used for Keystone’s “Home Sweet Home” program by assisting clients living in their own apartments with the financial support needed to obtain essential furnishings and household items.
Kim Carter, the program's development officer, said a recent client received bedding and a bed frame so she didn’t have to sleep on a mattress on the floor.
This is the fourth year Keystone House has been awarded a grant from First County Bank Foundations, which was established in 2001 to honor the banks 150th anniversary.
Keystone House, founded in 1972, is a Norwalk-based, nonprofit that offers residential and social support services for adults facing challenges of a serious mental illness. Currently, its programs and services assist nearly 200 clients per year.
