Norwalkers Lock Themselves Out

Buckets and buckets of water falling on Norwalk on Sunday seems to have had a curious effect: People were locking themselves out of their cars.

It was noon, and Norwalk Police Officer Louis Proto said he was breaking into his fifth vehicle of the day, many more than usual. "It's a little weird," said Proto, an officer for two years.

As per department protocol, Proto had the car's owner sign a release before getting to work. The 1991 Toyota turned out to have a very heavy frame, but Proto managed to get the long rod he was using down to the vehicle's electronic locking button, gain entry and get a smile from the vehicle's owner.

What about you? When is the last time you locked yourself out of your car?
