NORWALK, Conn. -- A St. Patrick's Day dinner hosted by the Knights of Columbus St. Matthew Council 14360 packed the Masterpool Great Room at the parish in Norwalk, drawing 180 guests and raised money for local charities that help veterans, pregnant women, kids and more worthy causes.
Along with a corned beef dinner, guests were treated to a "superb performance" by the Mulkerin School of Irish Dance, said Council member Scott Criscuolo.
"We do our very best to give our parishioner friends a fun time, and the brother Knights pulled up their sleeves and gave their all, on what's always a fun and hectic night."
The Council's next charity endeavor, along with Our Lady of the Assumption Knights of Columbus Council 11077 in Fairfield is a June 12 Shield Golf Tournament at Brownson Country Club.
Proceeds from last year's fundraiser and the St. Patrick's dinner, combined for a $2,000 donation to Homes for the Brave in Bridgeport.
“Being a Knight of Columbus for 32 years, I could not be more proud to see this great collaboration by two wonderful Councils to help our organization serve men and women who have served our country. All of us at Homes for the Brave are so grateful and appreciative of this support from my Brother Knights,“ said Homes for the Brave CEO Vince Santilli.
The dinner's proceeds will also help Malta House, All Saints Catholic School, Al’s Angels, Homes for the Brave, CT Fisher House and The St. Matthew Food Pantry.
The Norwalk Knights goal is to help those in need.
