Norwalk Bridge Provides Thrills and Chills

NORWALK, Conn. — Three daring Norwalk teens came up with their own twist on beating the heat Wednesday. The trio leaped from the Bridge at Hickory Bluff into the cooling waters of Wilson cove — then did it again, and again.

Photo sharpshooter Leslie Lajoie caught James Kuta Shaw, Sean Lajoie and Phil Pasqualini in the action. The bridge is also known as Bell Island Bridge on Bluff Avenue.

The flips into the water provide relief from the heat. A high of 92 is forecast for Thursday, but high humidity will make it feel as hot as 101, the National Weather Service says. Friday may be even hotter, and there is a slight chance of rain in the afternoon. Temperatures could hit the low 90s again Saturday before falling back into the mid-80s on Sunday.
