If you can't get enough of Lilly Pulitzer's bright and cheery clothing, give your interior designer a call. The company has just created a line of home fabrics and trimmings in their signature bold colors and patterns. Lilly fans can now decorate their homes with the same bright prints they love to wear.
Megan Dillon, who runs the Kravet/Lee Jofa trade-only showroom in Stamford, says designers have been lining up for samples of the fabrics since the line launched in June.
Lilly Pulitzer home fabrics feature many of the same iconic patterns found in the clothing line. Among the most popular patterns are Color Me Coral, a bold coral motif in Lilly's signature pink and green. Also featured are Bimini, featuring floating sea anemones, and Shell We, a geometric shell print. Striped fabrics and solids round out the collection.
Megan says that each pattern comes in a number of different colors with whimsical names like Dandelion, Shorely Blue and Seaweed. "My favorite is the orange colorway," she says.
Megan grew up in the interior design business. Her parents, Tom and Chris Dillon, are the New England representatives for Kravet/Lee Jofa. Her first job was working for an interior designer when she was in eighth grade, and she continued in the business through college. When she graduated three years ago her parents opened the Stamford showroom with Megan in charge. "It wasn't the best time to open a new showroom, what with the economy," she says, but business has been steady. She says that interior designers and decorators from Westchester and Fairfield counties like being able to come to Stamford to look for fabrics instead of having to go into New York.
Megan spends her days helping designers and changing the displays in the showroom. Right now, the place is a riot of Lilly Pink, Kiwi and Orange. Perfect for the summer.
