What better time for indoor bonding and outdoor fun than a snow day? Here are some tips for keeping the kids busy while you're snowed in.
Flop down in a drift and make snow angels
Get out a carrot, top hat and other winter accessories to practice the fine art of building a snowman
Have a (gentle) snowball fight
Dust off the sleds and find the nearest hill!
Once you're done playing outside ...
Warm up with some hot chocolate and don't forget the marshmallows!
Video games are fun, but make it a family game day with traditional playing cards and board games.
Tell snow day stories from when you were a kid.
Make snow ice cream!
Ingredients:
1 small box of instant pudding (any flavor will work)
2 tsp of vanilla flavoring
1 1/4 cups of white granulated sugar
2 1/2 cups of very cold milk, half and half, or heavy cream
3 quarts of fresh, clean snow
Directions:
Combine pudding mix, vanilla, milk or cream, and sugar together. Mix well.
Stir mixture into snow and enjoy!
