Playful and polite, Francois patiently waits at PAWS in Norwalk for a new owner and, yes, he's a Pit Bull. This might make some people wary but for those of us who own Pit Bulls, to know them is to become their devoted fans. They are loyal, fun and especially, sweet.
Francois came to PAWS after being turned in to Norwalk Animal Control by his owner. It didn't take long for PAWS volunteers to bond with him and realize this big boy is a kind, sensitive dog with a passion for tennis balls. He's always ready to play fetch. Beth, a PAWS volunteer says, Somewhere, theres a wonderful person who will give him lots of love and wholl set some limits. Hes such a lovable guy, but he needs a strong leader who wont let him get away with his antics. Keep him in tennis balls and hes happy!
As Francois settled in at PAWS, volunteers wondered why he was sensitive about having his neck and back touched. Some detective work revealed he suffers from skin allergies. Wearing a padded collar and eating a special diet keep him comfortable and his neck irritation at bay. PAWS Director Adrienne Statfeld says, "If he knows he has someone looking out for him and loving him and caring for him, hell be able to relax and have a good time. She adds that he loves going for leash walks, basking in the sun, and yes, those tennis balls. "Weve seen him fit three tennis balls in his jowls at one time an amazing feat for an amazing pooch!
