Greenwich Man Thanks All Stamford Runners

Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!

Sunday, June 5th, was certainly a beautiful day–the perfect day for Stamford Hospital’s 16th annual Hope in Motion Walk, Run & Ride event. The glorious weather was the ideal backdrop for the fundraiser, which attracted over 4,500 participants and included hundreds of volunteers.

Perhaps more noteworthy is the fact that, to date more than $875,000 had been raised for the Bennett Cancer Center. I am told this is significantly more than the same time last year--and many of us remember that we were closer than ever to achieving our $1 million fundraising goal last year.  This is history in the making and I want to sincerely thank all of those from Stamford who participated in the event and helped make it such a tremendous success this year–including those from the Bennett Cancer Center and Stamford Hospital Foundation.

I cannot begin to tell you how gratifying it is to witness this event grow year after year as well as to hear accounts of the wonderfully skilled and compassionate care that Bennett Cancer Center patients receive. Additionally, it is key that 100 percent of the event’s proceeds support the vital programs and services that directly benefit the cancer center’s patients and their families.

All I can say is that this event truly is “hope in motion” and I know it touches the lives of so many people in so many special ways. Much thanks again for your ongoing support!
