Egg-cellent Day for a Hunt

It took only five minutes for the hundreds of eggs strewn across the Rowayton Community Center field to vanish into baskets. Avery and Isla Tucker were participating in their first hunt. “They did better than I expected,” said their mother Amber Tucker. “We have been doing practice runs all week in the house.” [breakhere]

The competition for eggs was fierce and some children like Scarlett McCabe came up empty handed.  “She’s not really sure what’s going on. This is her first introduction to the Easter Bunny,” said Ed McCabe, Scarlett’s father.

In preparation for the hunt, parents with children participating dropped off six eggs for each child, yesterday at the house of the event organizer, T.G. Diamandis (you see him in the video calling out the rules). This morning, he and his three children came to the field and spent an hour and a half hiding all the eggs they could. Even though all that hard work was gone in minutes, the Diamandis' were happy. “It’s a great event to run,” Diamandis said.
