WESTON, Conn. "Drum guy" Randy Brody says he has had a tough summer. First, the life-threatening blood infection babesiosis landed him in the hospital for almost a month and then his "Drums Around The World" drum circle was rained out for the first time ever by Hurricane Irene.
Friends have pulled together to put on "Drums Around the World Part II" to help Brody with mounting medical bills, lost income and the slow recovery from the infection. The drum circle takes place Oct. 23 from 3 to 6 p.m. at Norfield Grange, 12 Good Hill Road in Weston.
Drummers and dancers from all over Connecticut and New York will attend, including Mark Zarrillo, Suzanne Tribe, Craig Norton, Virginia Lynn Anderson, Bob Werme, Lydia Smith, Damon Jackson and Sue Armstrong.
Donations will be accepted at the door. For more information, including other ways to donate, email Craig Norton at drumflight@sbcglobal.net. The event is produced by Norton and Sue Armstrong.
