The opening reception of Thomas Mezzanotte's one-man exhibit of photographs, curated by Laura Einstein, will be held at the 22 Haviland Street Gallery Saturday, March 13, from 3-5 p.m. It's free to the public. Tom's subject is bodies and faces--those of people around him and sometimes his own. He pushes those images into another dimension of the imagination, using processes similar to those that created the first photographs in the 19th century.
Also at the gallery, on March 14, Norwalk filmmaker Lori Petchers' will screen her documentary, Mezzanotte Obscura. This film recently premiered at the Big Sky Documentary Film Festival in Montana. You can see the trailer at www.mezzanotteobscurafilm.com. Showtime: 3 p.m., admission free.
The 22 Haviland Street Gallery is on Haviland street, the seventh Victorian house on the right, in downtown, historic SoNo. Phone: 203-852-6727. Parking is available on the street, across the street in Haviland Street Parking Deck ($1/hr until 6 p.m. free on Sundays), or see a map and other parking tips at www.norwalkpark.org
