You've Got the Look: Darius Burroughs

I’d like to tip my jaunty wool cap to the gentlemen of Fairfield County. Lately, when I’ve been out and about and looking for chic, stylish neighbors, it’s the guys who’ve caught my eye with their versatile, polished or eclectic style. Often, men get a bad rap for how they dress. They get accused of being sloppy, or lacking imagination. Not so in Fairfield County.

Take Darius Burroughs. I ran into him in Stamford, before snowmageddon hit. His urban, edgy look turned my head immediately. He looked like something off a Living Color album cover. And his boots were hot.

“They’re Diesel,” he told me when he saw me ogling them. “And the jacket is from Express,” he said of the black wool military-inspired coat.

When this post-punk, twenty-something isn’t shopping at Zara, Express or Saks in the Stamford Town Center, he’s studying mass communication, arts and advertising in Bridgeport.

“I’m definitely interested in fashion design. Todd Lynn is my favorite right now. His stuff is just amazing.”
