Your 'Tween Needs More 'Stuf'

Since time immemorial, mothers of daughters have tried to keep up with their offspring’s mercurial tastes and fondness for fleeting fashion trends. And as any mother of any daughter will tell you, it’s not easy. Or, at least it wasn’t easy. That was before Barbara Reinken opened her ‘tween boutique, Stuf.

“There was a total void for the ‘tween market,” says Barbara, the affable proprietor of this Byram shop. “You can shop at some of these other stores and find things that fit your girl, but what they offer isn’t what I want my daughter to be wearing.”

But there’s nothing buttoned-up about Barbara’s collection. It’s a playful, funky and totally ‘tween friendly. Burnout hooded tees, layering pieces and denim jackets bearing studded peace signs are just some of the items Barbara carries that your ‘tween daughter will actually wear -- and that you’ll actually feel good about her wearing.

“Jeggings are huge right now,” says Barbara of the legging-jean hybrid that literally everyone and her mother will be wearing this fall. “Vintage Havana is a really cool label out of California. Anything cool, they’re doing it.”

Stuf lives up to its moniker, and offers more than just clothes. Barbara’s shelves are stocked with ‘tween-centric accessories and decorative items at price points every mother will love, including Pin-Em’s, which are like Jibbitz for Uggs, and with some bling. “It’s hard to keep these in stock. At five dollars apiece, we sell out pretty quickly.”

Get your stuff together and visit Barbara in her Byram boutique, Stuf, located at 1 N. Water Street in Byram.
