Whittingham Center Walk Steps Off As Benefit For Norwalk Hospital

NORWALK, Conn. -- Nearly 2,000 community residents, businesses, civic groups, churches and schools are expected to gather at Calf Pasture Beach in Norwalk for the 13th annual Whittingham Cancer Center Walk and Sally’s Run on Saturday, April 30. 

Introduced in 2004 by grateful patients, this community driven event has grown in size and spirit, raising more than $2.75 million since its inception, all of which has remained in the community to support patient programs and services of the Whittingham Cancer Center. 

The event features a timed 5k run at 8:30 a.m., a 3k walk at 10:30 a.m., entertainment by DNR, Fairfield County’s all physicians rock band, health booths, and kid’s activities. Run awards will be provided in eight different age categories. Registration for this rain or shine benefit will begin at 7:30 a.m. for the run and 9 a.m. for the walk.

The registration fee is $30 per adult and $15 per child under 19 years of age until April 29, $40 per adult on the day of registration, and includes a T-shirt. Parking is free and no pets are allowed.
