Watch Sobering New Ad on Drunken Driving

New data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration shows that drunken-driving fatalities declined in 2010, with 32 states, Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico all reporting fewer deaths. Still, a total of 10,228 people were killed in alcohol-related accidents on U.S. roadways.

The NHTSA has launched a new ad campaign, "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over," as part of a nationwide crackdown on drunken driving during the holiday season – and beyond.

The public service announcements are far from cheery. Not only do they depict inebriated partygoers behind the wheel, they also invoke the memory of police officers killed in the line of duty by drunken drivers. Perhaps the videos will scare some people straight.
