Volvo Issues Recall

Volvo has recalled several 2011-2012 S60 sedans and 2006-2012 C70 convertibles. The recall is due to a misprinted label, which could lead to improper tire inflation on cars equipped with a spare tire and wheel kit. There have been no reports of injuries, fatalities or crashes related to the condition, according to Volvo.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) website lists the number of potentially affected vehicles at 19,600. Manufacture dates for the S60s are July 14, 2010 through April 16, 2011. For the C70 the dates are Nov. 15, 2005 through July 31, 2011.

Volvo will notify owners of affected vehicles by mail, instructing them to bring their car to an authorized Volvo dealer for an inspection at no charge. Owners of 2011-2012 S60 and 2006-2012 Volvo C70 models with any questions can contact Volvo at 1-201-768-7300. Reference Volvo safety campaign number.

Owners of these vehicles can also contact the NHTSA’s Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 or go to http://www.safercar.gov.  Reference the NHTSA campaign ID No. 11V508000.
