Valencia Heats Up Norwalk

This heat has put me in a tropical mood. You too? Well, there’s no need to hop on a plane to indulge our cravings. Norwalk’s Valencia Luncheria is serving up some of the most authentic Latin American dishes around.

Billed as Venezuelan Beach Food, Valencia’s menu is dining at its most delectable. Chef Michael Young has a creative flair that he extends to every item on his innovative menu. Every night (they serve dinner, too, despite the name) offers a new list of tantalizing specials. But the regular plates are just as spectacular. The plantain crusted tilapia in mango wine sauce is summer on a plate. And Chef Michael’s ceviche is swimming with flavor, with a touch of cilantro that will have you swooning.

You can bring your own wine to this cozy space, or sip on one of their many Jugos — freshly squeezed juices to order, such as papaya, melon, ginger, or carrot.

Mondays and Tuesdays, Valencia lives up to its luncheria moniker and is open from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. The rest of the week they serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. As for weekend brunches, Valencia is one of the hottest spots in town, regardless of the weather.

Don’t be fooled by the simple décor, it’s part of Valencia’s charm. Plan your trip to Valencia now. You can thank me later.

Valencia Luncheria is located at 172 Main Street in Norwalk. You can find their menus online at www.valencialuncheria.com, or call them at 203-846-8009.
