Alright, I was a little slow on the uptake on this. I have just been alerted that April is actually National Grilled Cheese Month. Who knew that such a thing even existed? But my late arrival to this particular party be damned! We still have more than two weeks of cheese filled deliciousness to celebrate.
It could be the worlds easiest meal to prepare. And its savory simplicity lends itself to innovation. Sure, melted cheese between two pieces of toasted, buttered bread is divine. But what happens when you add bacon? Or tomatoes, fresh or sundried? Prosciutto? Or, the next item on my must-try list, fontina cheese and truffles? The possibilities are only as limited as your imagination.
