Stylish Boutique Offers Bathroom Update

When did you last "freshen up" your bathroom? Isn't it time to replace that plastic toothbrush holder and chipped soap dish for something a little more stylish?

If you need some inspiration, take a trip to South Norwalk, Conn. where Waterworks, the upscale plumbing and bathroom store, has just opened a boutique in Lillian August's flagship interior design store. Take a left through the main doors, walk past the gifts and accessories department and you'll spot the Waterworks shop within a shop.

Barbara Fuller, vice president of marketing for Waterworks, is enthusiastic about the new boutique. "Lillian August is a perfect fit for our products," she says.

The Waterworks boutique has shelves piled with fluffy towels in soothing, muted colors. Browse the selection of bathroom accessories in wood, marble, glass and a smooth, creamy ceramic. Towel racks come in various finishes, including the increasingly popular chrome, and there's an assortment of wastebaskets and wicker stools.

Waterworks has recently boosted its line of apothecary offerings (think soaps and lotions) with the addition of home fragrances, candles - and an olive and sage soap for kitchen use. Also new is a collection of wall sconces that will give any bathroom an instant facelift.
