Stamford’s Teen Center Needs Your Help With Final Touches

The days of a welcoming soda shop on the corner where the gang would meet and settle in a booth for hours after school is long gone—if it ever existed.

Today’s teens often find themselves in a whirlwind, caught between family, school, college and career planning, jobs, and peer pressure amplified by social media.

Thanks to the Stamford Boys & Girls Club, serving the community since 1927, Stamford’s teens and young adults will have the specific support and guidance they need at a new Teen Center.

Construction on the Teen Center started in the summer of 2019 and is finishing up.

To that end, the Stamford Boys & Girls Club is holding a special fundraiser, Labor of Love Tour, on Thursday, February 20 from 5 to 7 p.m. at its location at 347 Stillwater Avenue in Stamford.

The organization is encouraging guests to come by, experience the programs the center will offer and check out the final stages of construction—all with an eye to help the organization shop for finishing touches by sponsoring a room, an item and/or buying a brick with their name on it.

Refreshments will be offered. Please RSVP to Director of Development Sam Gordon at sgordan@bgcastamford.org or visit EventBrite to register.
