Stamford Mayor Greets Rizzuto's

Stamford Mayor Michael Pavia took time out of his busy Election Day schedule Tuesday, Nov. 8, to welcome the town’s newest Italian restaurant, Rizzuto’s. Pavia stood shoulder-to-shoulder with celebrated Connecticut restaurateur Bill Rizzuto for an official ribbon-cutting ceremony and wished a warm benvenuto to the town’s newest eatery.

The Stamford locale is the fourth jewel in Rizzuto’s Connecticut crown, following hot on the heels of culinary success in Bethel, West Hartford and Westport. The latest space seats 160 people on three dining levels and an urban bar section, which boasts retractable, garage-like doors. And counter seating offers an unobstructed view of pizza-making.

The new space, located on the Greenwich/Stamford line at 1980 W. Main St. in Stamford, formerly housed the Route 22 American Restaurant and Bar. Rizzuto’s new Stamford spot is now open for lunch and dinner, seven days a week.
