Say Goodbye to Some Familiar (Car) Faces

Were you planning on purchasing a brand new Honda Element in January? How about a Volvo S40? If so, you might want to put pedal to the metal and head to your Honda or Volvo dealer soon, because those models will be discontinued in 2012.

They are not alone. Yahoo Cars reports that several manufacturers are sounding the death knell for many car models, from old favorite to recent novelties. Among them:

Buick Lucerne (born: 2006)

Chevrolet HHR (2005)

“Crown Vic” – mainstay of taxi and police fleets – has not been available to the general public since 2008 (1992).

Dodge Dakota (1987)

Ford Ranger (1983)

Honda Element (2003)

Mazda RX-8 (2003)

Mitsubishi Eclipse (1999)

Mitsubishi Endeavor (2003)
