A gas-sipping sportscar? So they're saying at Lotus, which says its 2011 Lotus Elise S will purr like a Prius right past the gas station--clocking in at a very respectable 46.7 MPG. That's a pretty nice number, and so's this: 0 to 60 in six seconds. Of course, driving like that will take a nip out of that nice gas mileage.
Lotus also claims the car's CO2 emissions are among the lowest you'll find in any high performance car--149 grams per kilometer--and they're calling the Elise the "cleanest gasoline powered car in the world."
Now. Will any of that convince your spouse to let you buy one? At a sticker price pushing $70,000? Good luck.
