Fairfield County might have lost Westports famed Festival Italiano, but Saugatuck isnt giving up the food festival ghost altogether. Saturday, Sept. 17, from noon to 3:00 p.m., A Slice of Saugatuck is your chance to discover or rediscover some of this historic neighborhoods hidden gastronomic gems for free.
At least 22 restaurants and retailers are signed on to participate in this afternoon event. The Black Duck, Rizzutos Brick Oven, The Boathouse, Tarantino and Saugatucks newest addition, Mario Batalis Tarry Lodge, are all offering tastes and samples of what they do best. Saugatuck Grain and Grape and Saugatuck Wine and Spirits will both offer wine tastings. And the kids can dig on more than pizza; the antique fire engine at the Saugatuck Fire House will be on display. Head down and Walk the Slice!
