Mini's most recent production car -- the Countryman is its largest offering to date, but now the pint-sized brand is returning to its compact roots with its latest concept vehicle. The Mini Rocketman, at slightly over 11 feet long, is a wee bit shorter than a Cooper hardtop but it's definitely tall on cool.
Enhancing a spacious-as-can-be feel, the doors and their sills -- pivot outwards, which makes entering and exiting to front and rear seats less a gymnastics feat than a simple exercise in ingress and egress. A three-plus-one seating concept means that instead of a bench seat in the rear, there is an individual chair behind the passenger seat. And there is a smaller seat behind the driver whose backrest can be folded down to act as a storage surface.
Of course the interior is loaded with cool LED lighting and a cutting edge infotainment system, as well as three-dimensional graphics on the patented "Mini Connected" system. And the steering wheel is actually mounted on a joystick.
The Mini Rocketman is a small package that's big on fun and games.
