Restaurant Week Means Gourmet Deals

Need something else to be thankful for this holiday? How does a week’s worth of prix fixe menus at local restaurants sound? Sunday, November 28, Darien Restaurant Week kicks off and delicious deals will abound. And last week, I got a sneak peek of what’s in store.

“One of our prix fixe items will be the chef’s choice,” said Kenny He, Executive Chef at Matsuri. “This is my first Restaurant Week in Darien, so I want to get creative.” Sushi lovers are in expert hands with Chef He, who learned his craft in Tokyo.

The long list of participating cafés, bistros and other eateries includes: Backstreet Restaurant, Bertucci’s, Chuck’s Steakhouse, Fuji of Japan, Harper’s Restaurant and Bar, Little Thai Kitchen, Matsuri, Olé Molé, Rory’s, Scena Wine Bar and Bistro, Tengda Asian Bistro, The Goose American Bistro and Bar, The Melting Pot and The Water’s Edge at Giovanni’s. Prix fixe lunch menus will be offered at either $10.10 or $15.10 per person, and dinner menus will run from $20.10 to $30.10 per person.

“We’re putting the menu together now, based on what’s fresh and fun,” said Erik Erlichson, Executive Chef at Harper’s. “But I can tell you it will be delicious.” Chef Erlichson’s pedigree leaves no doubt. He’s cooked in some terrific kitchens internationally, including Joe Allen’s Paris location.

Lunch, dinner, date night or family-style, Darien’s Restaurant week has something for everyone on the menu. And the prix fixe prices are reason alone to be thankful. Get the whole scoop from the Darien Chamber of Commerce.
