Early spring doesn't just signal the beginning of baseball season. April 1 marked the opening day for the outdoor dining season at Norwalk restaurants. All restaurants are free to put tables on the sidewalks outside their establishments through October. Though the weather was temperate, only the waterfront Sunset Grille at Calf Pasture Beach broke out the patio tables and chairs, but a fresh air and sun-seeking crowd was only too ready to pounce on them. "We're all just reaching for it," laughed Norwalker Jerry Sposato. "It's just been an endless winter." With a weather forecast of pure, sun-shiny bliss all weekend, expect to see patio tables all along Washington Street and at various spots along North Main as well.
