“Between Monday and Tuesday, we are making 600 deliveries,” said Alison Fellegara, daughter of Thomas Fellegara, who owns the store at 56 Main St.
“Valentine's Day is the time of year when everyone is grateful and thankful for the special people in their lives and want to show it,” she said.
Aside from roses, which are always the top choice of flowers on Valentine’s Day, according to Fellegara, many people have been ordering teddy bears, mugs, balloons and chocolates to go along with the floral bouquets.
The mugs have cute sayings such as “If a kiss were a flower, I’d give you a bunch."
For animal lovers, the shop sells bouquets of flowers that are shaped like puppies or kittens.
“We can custom-make anything you want,” Fellegara said, adding that the store delivers to most of Connecticut. Customers can also place orders through the store's website, which can deliver to anyone around the world.
Despite the very windy conditions on Monday, “We will still make all of our deliveries in time. If someone isn’t home, we will call them and arrange a different time to deliver.”
Mr. Red Rose, which has been in business for 30 years, started out in the Bronx, N.Y. It relocated to Norwalk five years ago, according to Fellegara.
