Nationally prominent illustrator and stamp designer Chris Calle, of Ridgefield, was also on hand. Calle created the show cover, which featured Redding hometown favorite Mark Twain, and was available to autograph copies.
Paul Calle, Chris' father, designed the 1969 stamp to commemorate the Moon Landing. Paul — who was one of NASA's original artists — also designed the 20th anniversary stamp in 1989, and the pair together designed the 25th anniversary Moon Landing stamp.
"It's a great event here today," Chris Calle told Daily Voice. "There are stamps for history, stamps for personalities ... you can live past and present history in stamps. People also collect topical interest stamps. It's great."
The Norwalk Philatelic Exhibition, or NORPEX, was free and open to the public.
