Norwalk Café Gets 'Best Of' Nod For Baking Better Bread

NORWALK, Conn. – One of Fairfield County’s beloved bread makers, Wave Hill Breads Bakery & Café, has won the coveted “Best of the Gold Coast” award in the café/bistro category of a local magazine contest.

This seal of approval comes via popular vote in the annual contest organized by Moffly Media. Winners in all categories were announced in the July/August issues of the publishers’ local magazines.

“We just opened at the end of January, so this is major,” says co-owner Margaret Sapir. “Our fans are so loyal, and they realize how special and welcoming our place is.”

The Norwalk café is a one-of-a-kind spot, offering events, art shows, local artisan food products, catering, homemade soups and gourmet sandwiches, along with a neighborly atmosphere to enjoy them in.

And don’t even get me started on Wave Hill’s egg sandwich.

“But it all begins with the bread,” says Sapir. “We really try to make the best bread possible and build everything from there.”

Wave Hill Breads Bakery & Café is located at 30 High St. in Norwalk.
