Neighborhood Pizza Gets Nauti

Feeling Nauti? The Nauti Dolphin pizzeria has all the ingredients to spice up your lunch hour.

Nauti’s proprietors, Scott Hartley and Greg Roberts, have served up fresh, delicious pies to Fairfield County for 20 years, with more than ten years under their aprons at the current location at the Fairfield train station.

“I’ll never forget something a chef I worked for told me once,” says Scott. “’Making good pizza is easy, just use the best ingredients.’ So I try to keep it simple. I think people like it.”

There's no doubt people like it. At lunchtime, regulars drop in for crispy, thin crust slices and salads loaded with fresh produce, and Scott and Greg greet them all by name.

“Simplicity is really the key,” says Greg. “We just want to make a damn good pie.”

“Greg’s the ambassador of goodwill,” laughs Scott. And while Greg is perhaps the more gregarious of the duo, it’s the collaboration that makes Nauti so nice. “Greg and I bring different skill sets to the business, talents that complement each other. People ask me all the time, ‘How do you two do it?’ But it’s easy. We just work together. It’s really kind of meant to be, if you believe in that stuff.”

“It’s the best place in town,” interjects Steve Lehning, an employee of the Town of Fairfield, leaning on the lunch counter, awaiting his daily slice. “And they do a lot of work for the community. Look up at the wall. See all those signs and thank yous? Those are all from people and organizations they’ve helped.”

In addition to the neighborly atmosphere and gourmet slices to go, Nauti also offers a list of specialty pizzas and pastas, all prepared with Nauti’s signature dedication to quality ingredients.

You won’t drop a lot of dough on lunch, either. A generously cut slice only sets you back two bucks.

“The way I see it, if you can get close to a true New York pie, you’re alright,” says Scott.

Nauti’s pies are so much more than alright. They’re New York City good.
